HALLOWEEN IN ALHAURÍN
(Halloween de la Torre heehee)

Although not a traditional Spanish celebration, Halloween is becoming increasingly popular around the country. Alhaurín is no exception, and you will find groups of children and parents going around the town and various residential areas in fancy dress. Costumes tend to be more scary-type, with less emphasis on the sort of funny get-ups that you might find in the United States or elsewhere in the English speaking world. Trick-or-treat in Spanish is Truco o Trato... Like in many places, the kids will only come knocking if your house is sporting Halloween decorations.

If you have kids or teens, the Casa de la Juventud is well worth a visit, as every year they have a Pasaje de Terror. Expect plenty of jump frights- not for the feint-hearted!
